Honey Creek Neighborhood Updates

Greetings from the Honey Creek Homeowners Association Board!

The Honey Creek HOA Board is made up of volunteers – neighbors who also live in Honey Creek. Like you, we want to keep our neighborhood running smoothly and looking good in order to maintain a high quality of life and preserve the value of our homes. We hope this newsletter will provide you with valuable information and resources.

Halloween

This Saturday is Halloween! Honey Creek is a popular “trick-or-treating” neighborhood, so there will be LOTS of kids in costumes walking around. Please DRIVE VERY SLOWLY through the neighborhood Saturday night. Also, Ellen and Mike will be having a food drive at their house to collect food to give to those less fortunate. You can drop off non-perishable items at their house: 3426 NE 23rd Place (the cul-de-sac off Olympia, to the west).

Tree Trimming

In addition to regular landscape clean-up in the neighborhood, ProGrass will be trimming up the lower branches of the trees in the parking strips and in the islands throughout the neighborhood. This will be completed by the end of the year.

Sidewalks

The City of Renton has installed asphalt wedges in the major gaps in the sidewalks around the neighborhood. This has been done to prevent trip hazards in the areas where the sidewalks have raised due to the growing tree roots. This is a temporary fix until a more permanent solution  and project plan is decided upon. The HOA is investigating various options and will keep Honey Creek homeowners updated.

HOA Annual Meeting

Tuesday, November 17th at 7pm at Sierra Heights Elementary: 2501 Union Ave NE. We will approve the HOA budget for 2016 and will also elect new board members.

New Middle School Will Serve Honey Creek Neighborhood!

The Renton School District is building a new middle school about four miles north of our neighborhood in Newcastle. It will open next fall 2016 and will serve the Honey Creek neighborhood. Click Here to read more and to view the boundary map and to learn how you can help name the school.
